About the Director

Tescille Riser, Krimmel Choir Director
Tescille Riser was born and raised in Bryan, Texas. Having been in choir since the 6th grade, she is a product of Texas choral music education. Mrs. Riser graduated from Bryan High School. She holds her Bachelor of Music in All-Level Music Education with a Vocal Concentration from East Texas Baptist University. She has done post-graduate work at Sam Houston State University and University of Houston. She is trained in Level I & II of the Kodály Concept and Level I of the Orff Approach.

Mrs. Riser has been teaching for 15 years in the Houston area. She has taught in Aldine, Humble, Conroe and Klein ISDs at the elementary and middle school levels. Choirs under Mrs. Riser’s direction have received Sweepstakes ratings at UIL competitions, Superior and “Best in Class” awards from various state music festivals. She has presented several workshops for Houston area school districts. In 2009, Mrs. Riser was selected as Krimmel Teacher of the Year and Klein ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. She is a member of TMEA, TCDA, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
